Hytec Opens New Gearbox Repair Facility

Hytec Johannesburg has recently completed a new gearbox repair facility at its premises in Spartan. The 400m2 new facility is valued at R1.1million and is the only gearbox repair centre in Africa for Rexroth equipment.

While under the accredited Service Centre of Competence certificate from Bosch Rexroth AG, the facility has an additional 1000m2 off-site storage space, which supports effective work in progress.

The value of work for general gearbox repairs is increasing and because of this gearbox repairs are completed on-site, and occasionally carried out off-site for extremely large units. A 10 ton overhead crane has also been installed to assist the workflow at the facility.
The new facility will further support gearbox repairs available to OEMs and others in southern Africa.
