Vertical Bead Mill Gains Power

Hytec
Johannesburg has joined forces with Deswik
Mining Consultants. This comes after Hytec
signed a contract to supply hydraulic power
packs and motors for use on Deswik’s vertical
bead mills.
The Deswik 1000 litre mill is capable of
grinding in excess of 30 dry tons of ore per
hour, from input particle sizes of between 150
to 45 microns, to outputs of between 38 to 5
microns. The entire drive and milling system is
automated and PLC-controlled.
In comparison to the standard electric
motor/gearbox drive, this new solution offers
significant saving of the installed power
requirement. The advantage of the hydraulic
drive is the ability to deliver full torque at
start-up.
The development of the Deswik vertical bead mill
started in early 1998, with the first commercial
unit being supplied in 2000. Since its
inception, the new design has surpassed all
expectations and has proven to have many
benefits including, lower energy costs, greater
reliability, ease of maintenance, better heat
dissipation, smaller footprint, low operating–
costs, superior grinding quality and a
significantly shorter lead time.
This uniquely designed patented mill with
stepless speed control and full torque over the
whole range, will produce the desired product by
balancing the closed loop speed control and bead
load. |
