Conveyors For Tobacco Production Line

Tectra Automation has supplied four conveyors, to Arsu Technical Services – a system integrator and on-site maintenance contractor, for use on an international tobacco company’s production line.

The project that took three weeks to complete, saw the company supplying 200mm wide and 22m long ECS 40 easy conveyors. These were suspended from the ceiling to transport cigarettes and cigarette packets between production and final packaging.

The Easy Conveyors’ concept is based on long experience in the development, production and implementation of product systems. The conveyors work with functional modules in combination with one another. The most advanced constructional concepts are always used in the engineering of the various modules, so a state-of-the-art product is guaranteed.

Conveyors with advanced technique and efficient production methods were developed with knowledge and expertise. This was aimed at ensuring clients reap the benefit of a good profit from a smart product.

A unique selling point of the conveyors was its long length and flexibility to withstand the suspension. Tectra Automation division manager – linear motion and assembly technology Harry Steyn says, “We were the company of choice due to our ease of installation, short delivery times and our light-weight, neat and compatible product.”

In addition, Arsu Technical Services also has a 12-month maintenance contract in place, which covers maintenance as well as a breakdown service on the conveyors.
